Zoey continues to receive subcutaneous every other day and it has kept her healthy. In addition to the fluids, we've had to bathe her a bit more frequently because excrement is sticking to her hind quarters. Here is a picture of her after her most recent bath drying off in front of the fireplace.
so glad to hear Zoey is doing well, regardless of the indignities she might have to suffer :( what a little trooper, your courageous Little Lion! (aaah, fireplace!)
I had a cat with what appears to have been the same problems as Zoey as described on your site. He only had to have the subcutaneous fluids once in a while after the initial care. I fed him baby food, canned and fresh steamed or baked fish along with some raw meat and used The New Natural Cat as a reference book for some food mixes along with having Science Diet dry cat food available at all time. He drank a lot of water but lived to be 18 years old! Approximately seven to eight years after the initial diagnosis. But please be sure to first check with your vet before doing this for Zoey!
Thanks for the info, Judy! We are amazed how otherwise healthy Zoey is. She is still very active and has an amazing appetite. We expect to continue to have more time with her.
